From a larger selection of my childhood drawings and doodles, [link]
Around the ages of four to ten, I remember having very vivid dreams full of strange creatures in bizarre locations, mostly inspired by the video games I'd been constantly playing. When I woke up I'd sketch them furiously, trying to capture as much of the detail as possible before the feeling of the dreams "drifted away". I'd even numerate the dream-creatures, and create maps to show where-I-saw-what. This is one of the three such drawings I've done, but the other two are regrettably lost.
Years later, I discovered that Asian shamans did simillar dream maps of their drug induced trances, dug up some of my old drawings, photographed them against a wall and included them in my website for you to see.
Anticlimactic Note:
When your work is even slightly off-kilter, there is an irresistible temptation as an artist, to jump in and say that what you do is the product of "dreams", "visions", and "experiences". I think that such claims are almost always (intentionally and unintentionally) false, and the experiences are normal functions of the human body, there is nothing deeper to dreams than their face value; blank shots of dormant brains. At least when my own work is concerned, I can assure you that no ammount of crazy dreams and head-trips can replace the real deal at otherness; an awareness of what you are up to, a good knowledge of your subject and work; determined, neverending, tireless work.
technically, it's a landscape drawing of a stupid kid's dream
the feeling's very strange indeed, as far as I remember this was done in 1991 or 92. those were the days
I can't tell if that's adorable (I'm such a girl) or frightening. It's also tiny so I can't see much. What is the thing with "ejtapot" (is that what it says?) written under it?
Is that last bit um...anything to do with me? Maybe I have some more explaining to do if that's the case.

no no sweets, it's not about you. "ejtapot" is a combination of "ejderha"-dragon and "ahtapot"-octopus, because it was breathing fires the way I saw it

A collection of the most beautiful and amazing square photographs I found among my favourites. Please have a look and give these artists the attention they deserve!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
