The Return of the Dinosauroids by nemo-ramjet The Return of the Dinosauroids by nemo-ramjet
Be Watchful.
A teaser for my upcoming collaboration with the great Simon Roy ( [link] )

I know I am in a sort of hiatus lately. But have no worries. All of it is for a good reason.

Is that the mysterious "black beast"? And is this alternated world where instead apes it's raptors that rule in a world with mammals?

I cannot help but be reminded of ravens when I see this. Those birds are remarkably intelligent, and have occasionally shown tool-using behavior in the wild. Of course, this is far more than just a simple bird, as your title clearly shows. Though now I wonder... Are these "birds" sentient? The carefully selected spear and the knife around the neck certainly imply that...

That cave painting is incredibly striking though. Must have some sort of shamanic value to whoever created it. Oh, and I am only realizing now that they must be pretty big, if they're hunting something that deer-sized.
